Al Dhannah is a city that has evolved from a simple fishing village to a thriving urban center that offers a community-oriented, well-being, and wellness-focused lifestyle.
Formerly known as Al Yash and later Al Ruwais, the city was renamed by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in 1982 as part of a development vision following the start of refining and gas operations. In line with continued growth and a new vision, it was renamed again to Al Dhannah City, encompassing Jebel Dhannah and its beach.
Today, the city is a multicultural hub with residents from over 70 nationalities. It features modern infrastructure, including schools, healthcare, commercial centers, and public transport. Al Dhannah is also a tourist destination with beaches, resorts, and heritage sites that celebrate the UAE’s culture and history.
